Review on πŸš— Midwest Can 1200 - Compact Gas Can with 1 Gallon Capacity for Efficient Fuel Storage by Robert Wood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Clear and easy to use, I'm happy with that. Read my how-to in the review.

MY SITUATION/RATING: So I ran out of gas at the airport before leaving for a trip and bought this gas bottle to take home before I come back. My plan was to take a minibus home, pick up the canister, fill up and bring it back to the airport. I was very concerned about getting this glass and possibly being stuck at the airport due to all the negative reviews about it being really difficult to use or they can't figure it out. Still, I'm really glad I got it because it works fantastic! I found it extremely easy to use once I understood how the security mechanism works. I played around with it for a bit, maybe a minute or two because I didn't get it at first, but once I had it everything went smoothly. I had a glass with a black spout. So the product nozzle doesn't look exactly like the image shown in the actual product link, so I'm attaching an image. It has a small red button on the side of the nozzle with a black tab just above it. HOW TO USE: To apply throttle, you must depress (depress) the base of the small red button until you hear it CLICK. . The nozzle rod then slides down towards the can to release gas as you insert the nozzle rod into the tank. The black tab above the red button allows the nozzle stem to slide down once you insert the nozzle into the tank. This is because when you press the bottom of the jar, it will stick to the side of the tank. It doesn't take a lot of pressure to do that. It seems that when you press it, some kind of spring mechanism is triggered. Every time you remove the can and the nozzle from the can, you have to press the red button to allow the gas to flow freely. I'm assuming it's a security feature. **NOTE ABOUT MIDWEST CAN: It would definitely be helpful if the can came with instructions on how the security feature works. This seems to be a hurdle for many people purchasing this product. I was able to figure it out with no guidance, but I caught a glimpse of a review where a person mentioned something about a thread-related tab. This review gave me an idea of how the security feature works. Given that most people buying and testing this product are probably used to old-school free-flowing cans, I can understand why the safety feature is such a hurdle. I think it's the consumers who will definitely benefit if the instructions are included with the product. Fortunately, tinkering with the product for a few minutes was enough for me to understand it. REVIEW CONTINUED: The can itself is very solid and feels very thick. I had no problems with the gas leaking from anywhere in the bottle. The bottle I received was 1 gallon 4 oz but when I filled up at the gas station it had 1.94 gallons of gas. The can did what it was supposed to. I haven't had any real problems with it, except that there was still some petrol in it (it wasn't completely empty). I'm not sure if it's due to the orientation of my gas tank in my car or if it's an issue unique to the can itself. Considering this is my first time using a gas canister and it comes with a safety feature it was pretty easy and I'm happy with my purchase.
