Very difficult to use

We installed this lock 2 weeks ago. It was good at first but got worse after a few days. Now the weather is warm. I wonder what happens when it gets colder? Maybe it's not usable at all? I was misled by the video on the Revain website. It seems nice and easy to use this lock. In real life I have trouble opening and closing the lid and I broke two nails trying to turn the wheels. I'm wondering if my particular lock is bad or bad design? I will definitely contact the company to report the issue and update my review.
