Review on MSD 8918 Tach Signal Pickup by Reginald Pitt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

New school meets old school

If you want to use an RPM device, like I did when installing the PIONEER AVGVDP1 Vehicle Dynamics Processor, you need this to correctly read the RPM signal from modern electronic ignition systems to get "seen" from various RPM sensing devices like old rev counters, gearshift indicators and even some new fancy devices like the AVG-VDP1 that I bought. Installation is very easy and instructions are included. Basically the device (very small) is connected to the input wire of the coil, three wires from the device are connected to the car (12 volt input, ground and 12 volt output) with your old school speed controlled device using 12 volt connected output. It is designed to work with most modern electronic ignition systems, including diesel systems. Until I found this device I couldn't use my AVG-VDP1 so this was a lifesaver!
