I use this all the time for small details---1/32" is the thickness of the line I'm going for with this tip. Have sandpaper handy every other pass with the tip--- and thus the tip wears out pretty quickly so you really need to get a few of these. Also if this is your first time using it --- you have to be very careful with the tip as it bends very easily when hot β so you should use it at a steeper angle the first time you use it (say 70 degrees?) and when it wears off you can reduce the angle to a flatter 45 degrees or so.
