Definitely doesn't darken the room. I bought off-white, black, navy blue and teal to quickly straighten things out in the different bedrooms of the new house. All materials are of different quality. The fabric is sewn on in turquoise at the back, it is dense and darkens on the inside. The rest is of variable quality. Gray and white is the thinnest material. Turquoise was not new and came without packaging. I had to wash my face before I could use it. I found random hairs on them. Rough! I'm keeping them as they are temporary in my new home but I wouldn't be happy if they were my permanent curtains! Be careful!
