The pictures you can take with this lens and in combination with the Sony SAL-20TC 2.0x teleconverter and the Sony SLT-A65V are simply amazing. This lens made for great photos of the New Year's Eve fireworks at Walt Disney World from the balcony of a building at Polynesia Resort in Hawaii. Significantly better than the same photos taken with the standard 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. From the same balcony I was able to photograph Cinderella Castle in daylight, with the streaks of light adorning the castle clearly visible from over 9/10 miles away. Using a teleconverter and this lens, I was able to photograph the NASA Assembly Building from the Disney Dream's aft deck in Port Canaveral, with stars visible on the NASA logo - a distance of 11.84 miles according to Google Earth. You couldn't be happier with this lens, although for serious shooting you'll need a stand as the weight is significant. Thought I could handle it and didn't take a tripod with me on holiday when I tried this babe, I was lucky enough to be able to use the handy railing to secure it. However, I strongly recommend always using a tripod with this lens.
