Personally, I don't like "watercolor paper" that is sold in the classic way. I feel like the texture is getting in the way of my final drawings. And hot-press paper can get very expensive! Bristol Board is probably the perfect compromise. It's hard to describe how sensual the experience is. If you want to use just a small amount of water with a dense amount of paint, the paper will soak it up almost immediately. into the surface. but it's quicker than watercolor paper, so I can redo it quicker. I like this quality because I do a lot of character work with live models and I can create depth faster.
