Well, the quality of the Pearl has declined. These blades have been in use for years but recently bought 2 and the first one broke after a few cuts (a piece came off if that's too dangerous). I sent it back and got a replacement. First order and also broken. Keep in mind that I only do straight cuts and have over 20 years of experience. The other blade does not cut (cheap) porcelain stoneware well. I put in an old, very worn blade (of the same brand/type) and it cuts with no problems. It's not about putting on a blade. it's a question of quality. Unfortunately I won't be buying this knife again. They were my favorite blades but due to quality issues I can't risk being impaled by flying fragments of broken blades.
