It's well made, with heavier than usual grips compared to other Monster clamps (and Craftsman vises) I own. Hook a pipe about 6 inches in diameter or an irregularly shaped object about that size. I haven't had a chance to put them through a real loosening test of rust related items but seeing how well made they are I expect them to work well. You might not have the leverage that a 6" wrench does, but sometimes you don't need all that strength - just sort of to get a decent grip on a big pipe. Plus, for the price and how compact they are, you can't go wrong. I think they would work great on plumbing projects I did last year where I couldn't fit a wrench in a small space. I wish I had them hand then!
