Hi everyone, I was getting annoyed with having to keep going to AutoZone or PepBoys to find out why the Check Engine Light (CEL) is on. Sometimes they even charged me for it, so I kept researching which one to buy. I was looking for a scanner that can read ALL OBD II vehicles, tell me this code and what it means and also erase it. This scanner did it all and I am very happy with my purchase. Here are some of the things I did as soon as I received the device in the mail. I downloaded the program from their website (Maxi-Link v1.04) to update to the latest firmware, connected it with the USB cable that came with it, followed the steps and it was up to date! And to my surprise they even had a guide on how to find DTCs in their program in case you forgot what the code description was or someone knew the code but didn't know what it meant, it came in very handy. It had P0, P2, P3, U0 and U3 checking for DTCs, codes with P1, P3 and U1 which you would need to research as they are manufacturer specific. Another useful feature is that you can view still image data with this scanner and the I/M monitor is also very useful. It's really nice to have an LED screen as some scanners don't even have a screen backlight, even the more expensive ones. someday. But I would like keys like ENTER/Exit and Scroll to light up too, but I wouldn't deduct a star for that. As I said, I did a lot of research, so here are a few reasons why I chose this product. Miscellaneous. BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices. I have friends and family who have bluetooth scanners and they have all had bad experiences with them. That didn't stop me from buying it though, I didn't buy it because I needed to use the app from my phone or tablet and I personally hate these types of scanners. Oxgord CAN OBD II Scanner Tool for Light Check and Engine Diagnosis Direct Scan and Read - It was very small and compact but it only told you the code without description, you had to memorize the code or write it down and do your own research. Also, it only has a small screen and I felt that navigating the screen would be difficult if I had to. Finally, in my area, PepBoy used this to tell you what code it was showing and it couldn't read my Audis or BMWs. I've read about others saying it works for them, but I saw with my own eyes that it didn't work and I knew I didn't need this product. BlueDriver Bluetooth Professional OBDII Scan Tool for iPhone, iPad and Android - Same reason as the first product above (BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices) Auto WIFI OBD 2 OBD2 OBDII Scan Tool Scanner Adapter Foseal Check Engine Diagnostic Tool for iOS and Android - for the same reason as above. Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN OBDII Vehicle Diagnostic Scanner is the same company as the product I'm reviewing, but due to the fact that the screen was small, I was willing to pay an extra $15 to get a larger screen with it to have good backlight and more functions.
