Although I now need to replace my shadecloth after about 4 years of use, I am okay with that record given that it was exposed to full-all-day Central Arizona sun and frequent and punishing winds. The cloth was draped over a water tank and so not extended (as in a shade-roof) but rather as a draped "blanket". But it was southern facing with well over 325 days/year of full sun. So, for the price, and the conditions, I'm quite pleased. I also just noticed that i could be a 7$ 5 year extended warranty that might allow me to get a replacement when (should) the next cloth fail within the time period. I'm glad that this cloth sacrificed itself to protect the drinking-water-reservoir beneath!
