This makes it easy to adjust the claw to the correct depth. Of course, you can also do this job with a small screwdriver and a hammer. This will bring your nut to the correct depth. Is it cheap for what it does? No, but is it worth it? Depends on how often you want to use it. For my purposes, a bike shop is a must.
