This adapter does exactly what it promises! I have a relatively new laptop with a 100Mb network card built in, but the internet speed is much faster. The laptop also has a USB 3.0 port and I am successfully using it with this adapter. It was very much like plug-n-play; I didn't even notice that drivers were loaded on first connection (on Windows 10). The adapter seems to get a little warm, but has been in use almost every day for several weeks and works perfectly. I would definitely recommend this adapter to anyone who needs to create an ethernet port with a USB port (especially a gigabit ethernet port with a USB 3.0 port!).
