I like it best on tarps and mounts

It does what a tarp is supposed to do. My only complaint is, and this is subjective, it's not really "hard work". You'll quickly see what I mean when you try to remove the size sticker. Do not remove size sticker! If you try to remove the size sticker, a very thin layer of blue will remain on it. This is less than the thickness of the paper. Between these two layers, the core itself is basically fine. I wouldn't call it particularly thick, but it's reinforced. It appears to be four layers of very thin, mesh-reinforced plastic. Again, not what I would call "heavy duty". It should last a while, but given exposure to the elements, especially sunlight, I don't think it will last much more than a year. I suspect that the ultraviolet rays will tear this thing apart over time. So if you need a temporary waterproof solution, great. If you want a more permanent solution, this probably isn't the one.

Cons
