later I find this works well for stuck food, especially in cast iron. If foods are really stuck, soak them in warm water for an hour or two before cleaning with minimal effort. Otherwise, a little fat on the elbows is enough to remove the food. When you use it on stainless steel pots and pans, it leaves tiny scratches like a spoon. I don't use it on a smooth surface because I don't want it to get scratched. Exterior only gets Bon-Ami. It is easy to clean, simply rinse in warm soapy water and rinse well.
