Let's be honest. Most people don't need an optical drive these days. Sometimes I might find an old CD or DVD that I burned a long time ago and wonder what the heck is on it. That way I can read what's on it and then transfer what I want to save to my computer. I also have some old DVDs that I like to watch from time to time. Not as loud as other reviews say. Works as it should. It's always nice to have extra USB-C cables, and the USB/USBC split is useful. Please Note: Don't expect to use it as a USB hub. It's not for that. It's also not designed for that much power, so you won't be able to use all ports at once depending on what you have plugged in.
