Ideal in combination with the Gates belt tensioner. Both parts looked EXACTLY like OE. According to the mechanic, my old tensioner was loose. The dealer kept urging me to fix the problem ASAP and gave me a "discounted" price of at least $350 just for the tensioner. I wanted to be safe, so I replaced both the tensioner and the belt (although the belt hasn't snapped or stretched yet). I work at a dealer and it is CO discount. Well, I bought both the tensioner and belt for $130 (including tax and shipping) and paid a trusted used mechanic $30 (+ $10 tip) to install it for me. My Highlander is now running fine. No more shaky clicking, now it purrs. And yes, I work at a dealership and I don't even trust them. What does that tell you? Just make sure the belt is perfectly aligned with the tensioner or you will be in serious trouble. Also, this is just one of the tensioners available for the Highlander. Others go for $300+, which is weird. The OE Toyota part is $155 with my employee discount at the dealer. Not sure if these dual price stretchers have any advantage over this one, but I think Gates is a premium item.
