Review on Scepter Canada 72 Replacement Spout by Nicholas Peters

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy and efficient one-handed pouring

Compared to other anti-spill spouts, I find this spout the best. They come standard with Scepter/Ameri-Can gas canisters and I have now purchased these spouts to replace the Midwest Can spill-proof spouts (they bolt on directly with no adapter). I didn't have the problems described. from other reviewers that the black latch/safety is hard to press. If you're using pliers, you're doing something wrong. You can easily squeeze it with your fingers and it snaps (unlocks). Then take the glass and the vessel you are pouring, you just have to make sure the black rim/spout is pressed against the rim of the vessel. The gas then flows until the container is full, and then stops (due to the vacuum from the vent). Just watch the manufacturer's video. It is so easy. You don't need two hands to work. For small engine attachments (e.g. a grass trimmer), you can pour gasoline from a can while holding the attachment so that it will not move when you press the gas can against the rim of the tank: 1. Lower the can the bottom, pinch the fuse with your fingers.2 . Open the tank of your attachment/device.3. Lift and hold the gas cylinder with one hand while holding the tool with the other hand (if you have a small tool, probably don't fill it from a 5 gallon can!).4. Point the spout into the tank and press the black tab of the can against the rim/rim of the tank.5. Push the nozzle into the tank so that the fuel from the canister goes into the tank. 6. Pull out the spout when the container is full. That's all. To be honest, it's pretty easy (and quicker) once you get used to using the spout, and the steps become second nature, just like learning a new skill. While I absolutely hate quasi-government regulation getting in the way of liberty (yes, I'm talking about you EPA, the administrative state/"fourth branch" of government), I think the Scepter Spout is a good product .
