Review on Portable Anchor Plate for Utility Winches - Black by Sean Liu

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works with Warn 80010 1000lb AC Winch!

WARN 80010 1000lb AC winch attaches with three of the four screws included with the winch (not plate). Putting those bolts in isn't much fun, though; You will need tiny fingers or needle nose pliers to insert a nut or bolt into the winch body, depending on which side you want to mount which part. However, it's also not easy to get the wrench in after it's attached with enough force to hold it in place for tightening. You will probably work best with a flat head angle wrench. After attaching the plate to the winch, fitting the chain links into the holes can take some work. Other users have also noted this in their reviews. Personally I think this is what Warne intended as I'm sure you don't want the chain to accidentally fall out. They advise you to attach at least six extra links and then wrap the links up, but you know most people will ignore the manual and just pop the second link through the hole and end the day; That's probably why they made the link holder so tight. I found that instead of sawing it off to make things easier, I just stuck the limb halfway in and banged the winch and plate against the driveway, rock, etc to pierce it, after which everything worked fine. I prefer to leave the chains attached and looped, so it doesn't matter. I would pick five starts as it's fairly economical for what it does, but I chose four because the finish scratches fairly easily. I'm in a salty environment so I suspect it will start rusting very soon.
