Review on Capri Tools 20 245 Torque Wrench by Rusty Heredia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My new FAVORITE instrument!

This is a fantastic item. I've used it on so many fasteners to adjust the valves on my wife's Honda Pilot 04. Throttle bodies, intake manifold covers, intake manifolds, valve covers, rocker arm shafts, spark plugs, etc. It's perfect for all those low torque nuts and bolts. Simply multiply by 12 to convert typical feet/bls to inches/lbs. BTW: For spark plugs, I highly recommend getting a 1/4"-3/8" adapter ($5 for a set of 5 at Harbor Freight). You can then use your regular 3/8" spark plug wrench and extensions you are familiar with in all those hard to reach spark plug areas. It always bothered me that I could never tighten them properly. Those times are over and I'm a happy person. Also, the adapter works great for getting into tight spaces with various extensions or 3/8" deep sockets that your 1/4" gear may not reach. This can go a long way in ensuring there is enough room to turn the torque wrench. Gives you nice smooth torque applications. By the way: This button goes very deep. 20 inches/lb is light enough for you to click with your bare hands. I found it a very useful exercise to get a feel for the click mechanism at lower torque settings. Low torque means a very soft click. Be careful and practice beforehand to feel it.
