This kit makes a good inexpensive starter kit. The hook lies comfortably in the hand. The hook and cable are smooth and won't get caught in the yarn. The tip has a very good point to easily penetrate between the strands. I love the flexible hose used in this set - it straightens out well and doesn't end up with that pesky curl that so many have. However, I'm wondering how long it will take for the hose to wear out where it connects to the hook. The main disadvantage of this set is that the hook is missing a "hook". Does not grip yarn well and yarn slips frequently. Very frustrating! But as said, as a cheap starter kit it's ok and will work fine for that purpose.
