Works! I have a Sony Google TV, maybe 2010. Maybe a year or two later. I spilled some acetone on the remote a few years ago and nothing has changed since then. I had to smack the remote to make it respond to commands etc. But last week it didn't work and the new batteries didn't help either. So the new remote control was fine. I saw this one - didn't have to program it or anything; Simply insert batteries and everything works as described. The description is correct. I literally took it out of the box, put batteries in and it worked straight away. It meets the requirements exactly. Ideal. I'm so glad to be able to use this TV again!
