2003 Mistubishi Eclipse Spyder. Excellent value for money and quality. I am a low cost PickNPull buyer for parts. I figured to take this part off the landfill. But for the price, I didn't have to spend 2 hours of my life in a cold, dirty landfill to pull this thing. Especially when the repair manual calls for dropping the subframe and rusted exhaust bolts. As is often the case with a car with a bad starter, the car stood still for a while. I removed the oil filter that had no oil on it so the oil didn't need to be drained. I had a universal joint adapter for my ratchet that allowed me NOT to remove the subframe for the driver's side mounting bolt. And I was able to maneuver the starter without dropping the exhaust pipe. Before installation I checked the old starter. While the 'motor' was fine, it became clear that the electrical 'solenoid' was the culprit as it did not engage the starter when it touched the smaller 12v signal wire. Long story short, plug it in and all my problems were gone.
