This product is well built and designed to tight tolerances. It is designed to fit the hitch, not your receiver. I have a 2015 ram with a 2.5 class v receiver with a 2 inch spacer hitch inherited from my old ram. I originally ordered a 2.5 inch but had to return it for a 2 inch. I actually had to grind down a 1/4" weld at the bottom of the square tube on my hitch and just a bit of lint at the bottom of the receiver box for this unit to fit easily. However, I really like how it works. My hitch used to rattle like hell, now it's rock solid.
