The best choice for us!

We live in a rural area with limited high speed internet access. After suffering months of poor DSL service from our phone company, maybe 2.5Mbps download speeds, and the service dropped CONTINUOUSLY all day, we took a chance with our cable TV provider. We've had the same cable TV company for over 9 years with no signal issues so we thought this was the best option. At the time, Cable was offering speeds of up to 100 Mbps, compared to the previously advertised 60 Mbps service. We're not heavy online users, but we have 2 mobile phones, 2 tablets, a wireless laptop and a wired desktop, and there's only 2 of us in the house. I researched cable modems/routers and settled on this one for its dual band gigabit capability, wireless signal strength and the fact that it was advertised as compatible with our cable TV provider. Well, true form done by Netgear in every way!. When I was a network ADM, I always chose Netgear switches because they are easy to integrate, 5 minutes or less from box to service. The same goes for this modem/router. I set everything up for the cable installer and when he came in all he had to do was check the signal strength and then transmit it to the head office and we were good to go. The BEST part is that I now run regular speed tests and get download speeds of 114Mbps. The device has been working for a week now, no problems yet. We have a 3600 SF house and the range is great. Thank you Netgear for doing this for us!
