Review on πŸ”Œ Makita DP4000 2-Inch Drill with High Amp Power by Marcelo Apriando

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Drill handle and side handle are comfortable and well designed

Quality product. So far I've used this drill for woodworking and cutting holes (1 to 1.5 inches) in sheet aluminum. It worked very well. The drill handle and side handle are comfortable and well-designed. When you pull the trigger, the drill accelerates smoothly and steadily at variable speeds. I could smell some sort of lubricant coming out of the drill bit at high speeds, but I assume this will wear off over time. The engine is well balanced internally, no vibrations. The drill has a narrow profile, which means it doesn't require as much lateral clearance as some drills. The cocking mechanism has a large key and tightening, making it easy to turn. I really appreciate the extra power of this drill bit over the 3/8" models. Cutting sheet metal was no problem with the carbide-tipped drill. If you've never used a 1/2-inch drill bit, remember that the extra power means more heat on the drill bit and the surface of your materials. I was able to purchase this drill new from Revain for about $95 - great value!
