Review on Emergency Escape Tool Kit Chain by Kevin Vanlaere

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Difficult to review but here are a few thoughts

Difficult to rate an item like this as it is only used in emergencies and not in everyday situations. And since I don't want to cut the seat belts in my car or break the glass in my car/house, I can only give you my observations of what I've been able to test. First, the item is small, compact, and made of nice, durable plastic. It's about 4 inches long which is great for fitting in your car and doesn't take up much space. I don't recommend putting it on a keychain as it's a little bulky when you have it in your pocket/purse. Obesity is also harmful for key fobs. Not that it's really a heavy object. It's actually pretty light (about the weight of your phone), but keychains aren't designed to carry extra weight. The seat belt knife didn't impress me for two reasons. First, it is not easy to find on the subject. Better make sure you know the location of the flare BEFORE the accident. There is a "handle" on the item that looks like it's used to hang the item somewhere in the car. That's not what design is for. The cutter is located under this handle and is very small. Under the handle he has a small razor. I've tested it on several items around the house (a note, a plastic bag, a piece of clothing) and while none of these items have the same consistency as a seat belt, I haven't been able to effectively or effectively cut them all. So I'm not sure the cutter will be effective in an emergency. It's also very, very small, and I wonder with older people with poor eyesight if that might affect their effective use. I can't comment on "shards" as I'd rather leave the whole jar safe and sound in my car at home. However, I used the whistle! It's not too quiet or too loud. This is roughly the height Rose used when she was rescued from the water after the Titanic sank. But she was saved, so I can't say it's that bad! If only she would let Jack climb the wreck with her. The only thing I've really noticed about shards is that you'll probably need a significant amount of force when moving towards the glass to ensure it breaks. I'm just guessing about this (compared to other similar hammer shaped items), but I can't say for 100% for sure. And since there is no handle like a hammer, I can only imagine that if you smash a window with this item, you could also injure your hand by hitting it with glass. I'm giving this item 2 stars because I can't say for sure what might/won't work in an emergency and I want to give the item a chance to be sure. But what I was able to check/observe did not impress me.
