Review on Deiss® Dual Julienne Vegetable Peeler by Tina Evans

Leave your mandolin in the drawer!

I wish I found this sooner! It looks a bit complicated in photos, but it's actually as simple as toggling the tool to the feature you want to use. First, it's very sharp. I could only peel grapes with the weight of the pressure tool. The vegetable peeler is fantastic. Not only does it get the job done, it also makes a great side dish peeler. The rind is nice and thin, allowing it to take what it needs without being wasteful. The julienne side worked almost perfectly for me. I found that if I applied too much force early in the peel, it would skip the first millimeter or two until the tool had flattened the corner. using the tool in one smooth, quick motion, as if cleaning it perfectly with a straw every time. These are two features I use a lot with my mandolin, and now I can keep this complex (and pretty scary) instrument in a drawer.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
