Wow, this little tool makes peeling strawberries a breeze, much better than my other strawberry peelers. When it comes to tomatoes, it depends on how ripe they are. Ripe tomatoes crackle, green or yellowed ones near the core are a bit harder, but with a little effort the product works. I had to pierce the tomato around the core then the plunging motion worked. Consider using a melon ball tool, which is also good for making small balls. I'm very happy with it, but like anything else, press too hard and it can bend. However, it costs money. Enormous time savings and less waste in my opinion.
