Review on πŸ’¦ Stay Hydrated and Healthy with PUR Water Filter Pitcher Filtration System, 7 Cup, Clear/Blue by Janet Winn

Works well but the top leaves a lot to be desired.

I have always used the pure pot. and decided to buy a new one. Mine was so old and scratched and I was concerned that the plastic had become brittle with age. Also the idea of an extra cup on top of my old one was appealing and I thought the hole in the top might be nice. I don't regret the purchase but let me give you my opinion on it. It's a mess upstairs. Trying to use the hole in the top doesn't work for me. You have to poke a hole under the faucet and turn it on or the water will rise up, which isn't a big deal but a little annoying if you're used to just putting a jug under an already running faucet. Another thing that worries me is that the water inlet cap hinge is right where I want to place my thumb to give me a sense of security while pouring. This is important because you need to cultivate higher compared to the old model. Since I don't mind removing and locking the filler cap, I locked the filler cap. That way I could put my thumb on the back of the spout. HOORAY. Good luck with it. Maybe people were worried about dust getting in or something, but that creates more problems than it solves. Trying to refill a water bottle (reuse a water bottle) is a pain. You have to inflate enough water to open the lid and you're not sure where exactly the water is coming out and/or how much and as I said you have to tip even more with this new model. Haven't made it yet but plan on removing the little lid for pouring. I still love it and love the extra capacity. It also seems like you could fill in a little more at the top for filtering than the old model. But the upper leaves a lot to be desired if you're used to the simplicity of the older model. Advice for those who may have problems with slow filtering. Remember to soak the filter before use. I soak it right side up for a while, then upside down. Not sure if this will help or not. If you notice the filtering slowing down, I do. I put the towel on the counter and put the jug on the counter. Not breaking, but a nice little hit. You will most likely see some bubbles coming out of the top of the filter. After that, if the filter is not too old, you should return to a reasonable filtration rate.
