I was shocked at the price of this setup, it seems too high for such a simple device, but it's cheap for me. I needed to get to the chimney from another roof, so I had no choice but to purchase this kit. I installed it on a 20 foot Davidson aluminum ladder. Installation requires drilling some large holes in your ladder, but it only took 20 minutes to line up the pieces, drill holes and screw the brackets to the ladder. On a pitched roof it was fairly stable and easy to adjust. This greatly increased the weight of the ladder, maybe 10 pounds. Not something I use often, but nice when you need it!
