I admit I had my doubts when I saw the ad. The photos don't do them justice. To me they looked like real cheap plastic in the photos. I ordered another brand that was all shiny silver metal. Can't go wrong with metal? Well I've seen tons of posts for this other metal brand basically saying they suck and need to be redone to fix them. I don't have the skill or tools to do it so I canceled that order and gave this one a try. I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised! It's not cheap plastic at all. Well, the button to switch from tightening to loosening looks like plastic. But all moving parts are metal. The gears also sound like metal due to the ratcheting noise. As advertised, you will receive 3 sizes of square tool holders. The larger ones fit my car parts and are used there. Size 1/4 I will use with drivers to remove and reinstall nozzles from 3D printers. This allows me to do this without having to lift the frame all the way up to place the tools underneath. The ratchets on all 3 are quite nice and smooth, but are held in place until the bolts or screws are mostly loosened. The knob has to rotate to select tightening or loosening, and when you press it, it also serves to eject the tool tip. The handles are quite nice. I can't tell if it's rubber or TPU plastic. But in any case, they give just enough for you to be able to hold on while being strong enough to tighten the bolt. Now I can mention one thing. If you have a bolt or screw that has frozen badly, the rubber grip probably won't provide enough torque to loosen it. As such, you may still need a socket wrench to tighten stuck screws and then use them to further remove them. I can see they would be fantastic for my car as it has a lot of room, the socket just doesn't fit and doesn't turn well. They should fit as they are only 1 to 1.25 inches deep without the tool tip. I think I might order some of these as gifts for friends as they are pretty durable and you don't have to worry about a gift that your friend doesn't want or use. I am very happy with this purchase. worth your money!
