First of all I would say that this product is for an earlier SBC model where the dipstick is on the left side of the cylinder block. Be sure to check where you are before you buy. . Also, I found out that the bolts required to lift this product are not included so you will need to find them. Finally, those bolts used to provide clearance for the rotating assembly will mate with a standard oil pan; If you want to use a stock oil pan you will need to cut it and weld the gasket on to get clearance. After overcoming all these shortcomings, the part looks and fits really well, I also found that the oil pressure control with the addition of this product is just awesome! Especially at high speeds. Despite the fact that this product solves all other problems, however, it takes too much time, thought and manufacture to overcome them. Considering the cost of an aftermarket oil pan with an integrated wind deflector ranges from $150 to $200, I highly recommend that you just bite the bullet and spend a little more money. It is really effective in reducing headaches. but if you like a challenge, be my guest! Just allow about 6-8 hours of amazing time to get everything looking and fitting right.
