I use this adapter on my 2017 Macbook Pro to connect to an HDMI monitor while charging my computer and sometimes to another USB device. It also works when I'm speaking at conferences and need a VGA connection, which is great - the fewer adapters the better. The length of the USB-C part allows me to use the dongle with my computer case and the connectors on either side mean I only need one dongle for everything rather than several in one. All in all a great purchase that I will always carry with a computer.
