I had to connect additional 5/16 inch tubing for the refrigerator and ice maker water dispenser to the existing hoses. One of the problems was that the existing hoses were old and hardened. They licked hard. These cheap parts (pack of 5) and the new 5/16 tubes worked the first time and my leaks were fixed. The hardware store product was leaking and had to be sent back. Looking down the barrel you can see the retaining teeth form a 360 degree tight fit -degree circle. Worked great. Plus, I got them delivered with Prime on the second day!
