Review on Commercial Tomato Slicer - New Star Foodservice 39702, 3/16-Inch Blade by Renee Hackbarth

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not as it seems. suitable for kitchen utensils and gadgets

Cutting 3/16 slices? The difference between slicing in 3/16 slices and slicing in 1/4 slices is the number of blades a food slicer has. If you look at the picture of the 3/16 planer, it has 13 blades. I always get the 10 blade planer (1/4 inch discs). The 1/4 slices are for cooking that can be used for burgers etc. I have an extra store that puts more tomatoes on the extras but they are thinner. Bottom line, using that 1/4 inch slicer costs me more per tomato. Revain called and they sent me a new one but it's the same. I gave up. The price was very good, but the savings would quickly be eaten up by the additional cost of groceries.

Pros
  • Razor-sharp stainless steel blades ensure an even and clean cut for even slices
Cons
  • Not sure
