This is a great solution for home and school labs. Don't confuse it with Celestron's less powerful camera and software that comes with some of their microscopes. This is a 2 megapixel device that simply plugs into a microscope in place of an eyepiece. (You'll need to check the inside diameter of the eyepiece tube, but it comes with an adapter and will fit many tubes.) The software that comes with it isn't particularly feature-rich, but it works well and is easy to use. (It seems best to run the software on the computer each time you want to use it and plug in the imager after downloading the software. Also, disconnecting the imager before closing the software can cause the program to hang. I've seen a few cases where the software won't let me change the resolution of the display or the output image (closing and reopening the software fixes this.) Note that the thermal imager replaces an eyepiece and works similarly to a 15x eyepiece. So if you use a fairly standard 10x eyepiece with a 4x objective, you'll see 40x magnification with the eyepiece and 60x magnification with a thermal imager.
