Review on πŸ’ͺ Improved Packard C140A Pole Contactor Coil for Enhanced Performance and Efficiency by Gary Duncan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Has been working great for over a year now. It might get stuck.

The relay has nothing to rate or rate. It either works or it doesn't, which is why I haven't done it yet. Got this to replace the relay that controls the external A/C compressor and fan after the old one died. It worked great for a little over a year, but last night I walked by the window and noticed the outdoor unit was working. Even after completely shutting down the entire internal system, it still worked. It went away on its own after a while before I could start diagnosing it, but I think it's probably stuck now. So far it hasn't done that again while I've been able to keep an eye on it, but if it's already sticking I'll have to go ahead and replace it. They should last much longer than a year and a couple of months before problems like sticking appear, so I don't think the quality is the highest. They're all pretty cheap, so lasting at least over a year isn't a huge loss, but I'd still prefer one that lasts longer. EDIT: A few days ago I came in and this relay got stuck. , keeping the outdoor unit on. The compressor ran continuously at least long enough for the internal coils to freeze and the cold pipe to freeze completely. When I turned everything over it didn't come off so it was thoroughly glued. A good bang on the relay caused it to disconnect again and it has continued to work fine for the past few days but once it gets stuck like this it lasts most of its life as it keeps doing it and breaking. Compressor in the shortest possible time of his journey. So expect to replace them in about a year and a half, more or less. I'm going to try another brand that has a five year warranty and as far as I can tell it looks good this time. It's just too soon to replace him.
