Of course, before you buy, make sure the switch isn't to blame. Removing the door panel is easy to do and I would recommend taking a few shots after removing it as there are about half a dozen electrical connections to disconnect as well as the door lock and latch wires. It's not difficult at all if you follow them. The hardest part in my case was removing the existing motor and controller (track) as the unit failed with the window in the vertical position and therefore cannot be removed in that position. It turned out to be an aftermarket unit (a car bought used) that had no bolts on the motor plate so the internals were not accessible to wind down the window. But a decent pair of scissors to cut the top of the cable did the job easily, and honestly it might be easier than fiddling with an existing motor. After removal, the installation went smoothly. But with a few reference photos it was a lot easier to reconnect. Search "replacing the driver's window on a 2011 Subaru Outback" for clear instructions.
