I think it's important to note that this product requires disassembly of the passenger side fender liner (below) and the passenger side tire . for a complete installation. I only used part of the winter kit (see below) and didn't have to remove the fender to do so. If you're not happy with that, get a "short" cold air intake kit that just eliminates the second set of tubes. This will save you a few bucks if you never intend to remove the tire and fairings. Also, fender clips are quite fragile so use proper tools or find recommended removal method. This kit WILL work without removing the panels/bar, but you won't be using part of it and you'll get really cold air. I bought it for our 1999 Honda Civic EX to improve gas mileage. I think I got a little more horsepower too. My wife thinks it's too loud, but it really only happens at full throttle. If you're driving on maximum gas mileage, you'll hardly notice the difference (although it's louder than stock). I've always been a fan of K&N products and this is no exception. When I installed this I read that they do not recommend putting the kit in the fender for winter or rainy days. Since I installed it in the fall, I decided to abandon the second part of the hose and make a "short" cold air intake out of it. This probably reduces the amount of cold air I breathe in, but still seems to help a bit. In the summer I will add the next part of the tubing and update the review if necessary.
