Rear Sensor on a 2002 Toyota Highlander V6

This sensor was used to replace the pre-catalyst sensor on a 2002 V6 Highlander. Installation was fairly easy, although I had to remove 4 front driver's seat bolts and tilt the seat forward to access the connector, which is located inside the cab under the seat carpet. 4 screws were easily loosened with a socket wrench. The seat can be tipped forward without having to disconnect any of the cables leading to the seat to control the power seat. The connector in the cabin is physically connected to a stamped ledge in the floor under the carpet near the front of the seat. The port is on a vertical surface facing the rear of the cabin and can be accessed by cutting the carpet starting at an existing gap in the frame towards the center of the seat. At first I tried not to cut the carpet, which disappointed me. It didn't really matter because when the seat is put back in place, the cuts aren't visible. I used heavy duty scissors to cut the rug. The connector has a push clip that keeps the two ends of the connector engaged and is easily accessible after the carpet has been cut. The rubber bushing fits perfectly in the hole in the bottom of the car. For added protection I sealed where the grommet on the cable goes through the grommet and also at the other end where the grommet pushes up the sensor, although the rubber around the wire is tightened at the grommet. If I had known then what I know now, the job would have taken less than an hour. Note that the store offered me $240 to replace the sensor. My Check Engine and VSC have not lit up since I replaced the sensor. Hope that helps
