If you have a or two holes in thin or soft wood are over, but all else is hopeless. I had to drill some holes in a piece of wood. This wood is probably 2 or 3/8 inches thick and fairly soft. I was able to manage the smaller holes, but when it came time to drill the large (3 inch) the saw just dulled. It took me an hour of fiddling with it, changing batteries and trying not to ignite everything (those dull blades are HOT) and I only got about 5% of the way. I ended up using a jigsaw puzzle to finish the job. The set is cheaper than a good hole saw or two and I got my damn holes but ruined the set in the process. Even if you only need a few holes, you might want to get something different.
