Well, I've sharpened a few dozen points and this device really sharpens them! It requires a slight learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, everything will run like clockwork. Follow the step-by-step instructions carefully. Depending on how blunt your tip is, you may need to sharpen it up to three times throughout the tuning cycle. After each sharpening, check that the entire surface of the chisel has been ground. If "old" metal is still visible, you will need to re-tune and re-sharpen. If the chisel was previously "sharpened" on a grinder (it's impossible to get the right angle, etc. by hand), then you need a Dr. repeatedly to set the desired angle. I wish I had invested in one 50 years ago. Let's see how long it lasts.
