Egg poachers need some practice to get it right. I use it less so I didn't get my timing right. It's more like a shelled hard-boiled egg, which isn't bad. The sandwich maker is what I really wanted and it makes my egg muffin sandwiches a breeze. I had to use a non-stick spray after the first few uses, but otherwise I can cook a whole egg or runny egg white with spinach and sometimes veggie sausage (fresh or frozen) and/or cheese (dairy or vegan) in 60-65 seconds and it is perfect for my english muffin. Sometimes it explodes a little in the microwave. Same ingredients, same time, so I don't know what's going on, but I think it just happened with the whole egg, so there might be a slight difference between the eggs.
