I was looking for something like a rail mount system popular with ground folk for multiple devices but thought it might be worth a try. I have an iPhone 12 pro max and none of the vent attachment systems really just don't cut - they are useful for completely blocking the vent. As I have an older F350 the dashboard is flat and if the vent bracket sticks out too far it can interfere with the automatic transmission shifter. My AC center vents are not pushed back like some other vehicles. I was able to get it working with this phone holder, but it still got in the way a bit. Let me talk a little bit about the holder/wireless charger - it's very pretty. The fit and finish is nice and very durable. The instructions seem to suggest mounting the phone in landscape mode, but it also holds securely in landscape mode. Charging cable - USB-C and USB-A on the other end. It comes with a 12V, 2-port, 3.1A charger. When you extend the grip, it also gets quite wide, so this should accommodate future phones a bit. Older wireless chargers need to have power to free the phone - this one seems to have something that could be either a capacitor or a small battery that maintains power for a while so you can turn the phone off without plugging it into the charger. It was a pleasant surprise. some earlier devices that were smaller. The release button is also larger, and once you remember where it is, you can easily remove the phone from the mount. The fact that you don't have to turn on to trigger is also a big win. That's why I have a compartment for the installation that is lower on the dashboard. With a few modifications I was able to fit the extension cord and mount the phone very securely. It's a bit lower than I prefer, but since I'm using Carplay it's not that big of a deal. Test drives do not yet show that the cell phone bounces strongly. I can still upgrade to a rail mount system, but if I can I'll use the wireless charging portion of this setup - one of the best devices I've had. Pleasure to work with to this day. Good stuff.
