Review on Front Axle Differential Actuator Disconnect 4WD, AWD - Chevy, Buick, GMC Compatible - Replaces OEM Part Numbers - Rainier, Trailblazer, Envoy, XUV, Ascender by Shafiq Wang

Works, but not for long. Cheap internals

I replaced the stock connector on my 2006 Trailblazer during a suspension and engine overhaul. The block seemed to work fine for about a year (the son drove). But when checked in late 2021, the front differential was locked. I have confirmed that the actuator on the gearbox and this shut off actuator are working. I removed the separator case and ripped it open to see what the problem was. It turned out that the shift fork, like some other components, was made of a very soft metal. The assembly is so worn that the engaging shifter wheel has fallen out of the shifter fork. The shift fork couldn't move the gear far enough to engage. So I removed and replaced the $550 Dorman unit. But at least it has a forged shift fork and should last the rest of the truck's life. It was only 1.5 hours of work, but after buying this device I was just pissed off. Attention buyers.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
