I love this thermometer. just stick that sharp object into the thick part of the meat, set the desired temperature (or time) and you're good to go. The pager will sound when you reach the desired temperature. it is very easy to use. I never read the instructions, but I managed it without any problems. So you can either cook other foods or sit down and have a beer without having to constantly check on your meat. I like to set the temp 10 degrees lower than needed so I know I'm getting closer, then drag it 5 degrees below my desired temp so the final part of the cooking happens outside of the oven on the counter.
