Fixed my 2001 Toyota Highlander Limited (3.0L 6cyl VVT). After about 230,000 miles and a few years of intermittent use, I was getting engine/transmission vibration at stop lights, intermittent rough idle while warming up, judder/downshifts at highway speeds, and lots of engine misfire codes. This part replaces the front VVT oil control valve located near the throttle body on the front cylinder head. You may need to disconnect the coolant line to be able to replace it. Lubricate the O-ring before installation. Be sure to check the small VVT oil filter behind the hex nut next to it. This is one of the most common reasons for this part to fail. (Disclaimer: These are guidelines. Please contact the manufacturer). I rode this part about 400 miles and none of the symptoms returned. The detail seems to have worked.
