My P0125 had a few puzzles. This trouble code describes a problem with the coolant temperature not being high enough for the blending algorithm to work. After replacing the thermostat and coolant temperature sensor with no solution, I continued my research. It turns out that P0125 also means the algorithm isn't getting along with the O2 sensor. Interestingly, there were no other codes. The next puzzle is what is this sensor? The decal on the bonnet says HO2S (2) meaning this car has two O2 sensors and does not use an Air/Furl sensor for mixture control. Denso 234-4162 is an OEM replacement and the problem was completely solved after installing this sensor. Despite the California compliance label, this vehicle does not use the more expensive Type A/F sensor. Also note that Revain says this sensor is not for my 4runner. I don't think their Checker can cope with the years of production of cars in different trim levels.
