Easy install, works great and looks better than my improvised bar

My old thumb latch was getting harder and harder to use and then just broke off right at the metal joint on the inside as I left, to lock the door. This meant my door was no longer locked which is a security issue for the house and pool backyard. I went out and used the old school solution which was a stout piece of wood to block the door while the new lock arrived. Checked everything and finally found this factory replacement. My old one was rectangular, not elliptical, but the insides were exactly the same size and layout. I just cleaned the door and replaced it with this part. Back to work in less time than it took me to make my makeshift cane!
